Safe in Faith Domestic Abuse awareness training for faith leaders (session 2)

7 May @ 2:30 pm5:00 pm

Domestic abuse affects one in four women and one in six men in the UK during their lifetime.  There are people affected by domestic abuse in every parish.  Victims and survivors with a faith background may be subjected to spiritual abuse. Do you know how to respond safely?

Safe in Faith offers training to priests, deacons, religious sisters and pastoral workers to understand domestic abuse, how faith is weaponised by perpetrators, trauma -informed spiritual support. The training is free to those who live or work in Westminster Diocese.

We also have training for counsellors, psychotherapists and other helping professionals in working with domestic abuse, trauma and faith.

Learn how to spot the signs, safely respond, and signpost to other kinds of help and self-care while you support others.

Training takes place online over four sessions, and you are advised to attend all sessions if you can. All take place at 2:30pm to 5pm.

For Westminster Diocese Catholic clergy religious and parish workers. Please email safeinfaith@rcdow.org.uk if you are in another diocese. We have other general training for helping professionals.
