The Guild Church of St Katherine Cree, The City of London (CoE)
The Guild Church for Workers in the heart of the City of London
About The Role
A church has stood on Leadenhall Street for nearly 800 years, bearing witness to Jesus Christ in word and action for generations. Today, we are the Guild Church for Workers, with a diverse ministry among those who work in the City of London. We are also London’s only Jacobean church, and when our doors are open, we are blessed with dozens of visitors each day ranging from causal tourists through to local workers seeking reflection and support. We want people who enter this space to encounter the love of God, and the peace which comes from entering a sacred place of prayer and reflection. So, as we are open more during the week we are looking for Chaplaincy Volunteers to offer a welcoming presence and pastoral support to visitors.
As a Chaplaincy Volunteer, you will help visitors and tourists experience a friendly welcome to the church and offer a listening ear and pastoral support if required. You will be part of our growing workplace chaplaincy team, helping to create a welcoming and supportive space where everyone feels valued and encouraged.
The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
