Jubilee Volunteering Fair

8 March @ 3:00 pm5:00 pm

Free

To mark the Jubilee of Volunteering on 8-9th March, we’re hosting a Volunteering Fair so you can discover the wide range of opportunities available across the diocese.

At the fair, you will have the chance to:

  • Speak to staff and volunteer from a wide range of organisations to hear about their work and how to get involved. Meet representatives from Age UK Westminster, Assumption Volunteers, Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS), CAFOD, Catholic Listeners, the Companions of the Order of Malta, Copenhagen Street Foodbank, Diocese of Westminster Lourdes Pilgrimage, Guild of Saint John Southworth, Housing Justice, Jesuit Refugee Service, Landings, Marriage Care, Mary’s Meals, Providence Row, Radio Maria, St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), Stella Maris, The Passage, The Sacred Heart Foodbank (Holloway), TimeGivers and Unfold.
  • Explore opportunities in your parish: all parishes offer opportunities to contribute to parish life. Many parishes across the diocese also have thriving projects that need volunteers to continue running. From leading a youth group to assisting at a food bank or visiting the elderly, your help can make a real difference in your local community.
  • Find out more about Caritas Westminster’s work, how you can get involved and how we can help you, your parish or school get involved in social action.

Why Volunteer?

Jesus came ‘not to be served, but to serve’ (Mark 10:45) and calls us to follow Him on this path. Volunteering allows us to live out this call, becoming instruments of God’s love in the world.

But volunteering is more than just giving; it is a journey of growth, connection, and purpose and can be hugely rewarding. Food project volunteer Hannah sums up her experience: “I am always happier when I volunteer.”

God calls each of us to contribute in our own unique way. Come along and discover ways to serve that align with your talents and interests and experience the joy it brings.

Light refreshments will be provided.

See you there! No need to book.  We appreciate your RSVP to get an idea of numbers. Thank you!

If you have any questions or want to request a stall at the fair, please contact Juliet at cvs@rcdow.org.uk
