What is the opportunity?
The Catholic Children’s Society worked as a Voluntary Adoption Agency for many years and placed over 6,000 children with adoptive families. We now operate a Post Adoption service which is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. This service helps adopted adults achieve a greater understanding of their origins and reasons for their separation from their birth parents. We also provide advice and support in helping those seeking reunions with ‘lost’ family members.
We keep records and files dating back over a hundred years to ensure we can provide as much information as possible to individuals seeking information about their past.
We are looking for an excellent administrator to help us:
- Undertake an audit of our archives to ensure all files are stored correctly.
- Transcribe key information into a spreadsheet so we can create an electronic database to help streamline our process for identifying and retrieving files.
The impact you will have:
This will make a significant contribution to our work, enhancing our work processes and ensuring we can quickly and easily retrieve files. It will strengthen the capacity of our team to provide outstanding support for service users.
What skills are we are looking for:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- Highly organised
- Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Time commitment:
Anything between one day (7 hours) to five days (35 hours) per week.
