Assumption Volunteers
A gap-year & short-term volunteer programme sponsored by the Assumption Sisters
Working alongside the Assumption Sisters, the volunteers will get involved with our Assumption school in Kenya, Nairobi, helping both staff and students who need a good standard of English for further studies.
Volunteers can also get involved in pastoral ministry in the local parishes, visit the local communities, farms and develop creative projects based on their own interests and skills. For example: IT and computing, help students to use the internet, promote journalism and knowledge of world events and in general broaden the students’ horizons.
They need to be fluent English speakers with an interest in a range of creative activities and some teaching ability. Some French understanding and speaking would be desirable.
Possible countries: Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Chad, Cameroon, Madagascar
Hours per week: Between 35 and 40 hours
