This Christmas, Caritas Westminster teamed up with Pact to help provide the children of prisoners with a Christmas present. Seven parishes and one school took part in the project, providing around 350 presents.
Over 95,000 children have a parent in prison. Maintaining and strengthening family relationships is proven to reduce re-offending and prevent the likelihood of the children of prisoners becoming offenders themselves.
The simple act of donating a Christmas gift that the prisoner can give to their child can help to improve their relationship and make Christmas more special.
