In these Terms and Conditions references to “we”, “us” and “our” are the Caritas Volunteer Service (CVS).

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the content of https://caritaswestminster.org.uk (“the website”) which relates to the Caritas Volunteer Service, including but not limited to https://caritaswestminster.org.uk/volunteer-service and https://caritaswestminster.org.uk/volunteer, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out herein and you accept our privacy policy. If you object to any of the terms and conditions set out in this agreement you should not use any of the products or services on the website and leave immediately.

You agree that you shall not use the website for illegal purposes, and will respect all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use the website in a way that may impair the performance, corrupt the content or otherwise reduce the overall functionality of the website. You also agree not to compromise the security of the website or attempt to gain access to secured areas or sensitive information.

You agree to be fully responsible for any claim, expense, liability, losses, costs including legal fees incurred by us arising from any infringement of the Terms and Conditions set out in this agreement.

Any username and password issued to you are personal to you in order to facilitate your access to the website and shall not be disclosed to any third party without Caritas Volunteer Service (CVS)’s prior written consent.

All email communications sent by CVS and attachments thereto are intended only for the addressee and/or others authorised to receive them.

Modification

CVS reserves the right to change any part of this agreement without notice and your use of the website will be deemed as acceptance of this agreement. We advise users to regularly check the Terms and Conditions of this agreement.

CVS has complete discretion to modify or remove any part of this site without warning or liability arising from such action.

Limitation of Liability

CVS will under no circumstance be liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages, including any loss of business, revenue, profits, or data in relation to your use of the website.

Nothing within this Agreement will operate to exclude any liability for death or personal injury arising as result of the negligence of CVS, its employees or agents.

For charities and other organisations using or intending to use CVS’s services

CVS is a matching service. It does not provide a placement service and organisations are responsible for contacting candidates, interviewing, selection and all other recruitment activities.

CVS does not vet or endorse any potential volunteers who contact you through our
organisation, and does not make any warranties as to the suitability of the applicant, with the CVS cannot be held liable for any consequences resulting from appointments made through its services.

CVS is not responsible for an organisation not complying with this disclaimer and/or its guidelines.

Any organisation registering on the site must have a Safeguarding policy in place.

Caritas Westminster follows National Safeguarding procedure as advised by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency.

For individuals using or intending to use CVS’s services

CVS provides information about volunteering opportunities on behalf of Catholic, non-Catholic and interfaith organisations. An advertisement on the CVS website does not constitute an endorsement by CVS of the opinions, religiosity, policies, products, services, activities or legal and financial help of any organisation listed.

It is recommended that potential volunteers fully inform themselves of all aspects of an organisation before accepting a volunteering role. This could include any regulations and compliance reports such as DBS checks. CVS is not responsible for the organisation not getting in contact with the volunteer after the initial approach from the volunteer.

CVS cannot guarantee a volunteer being placed by the organisation they have contacted. 

Individuals shall refrain from contacting organisations through this website to ask for volunteer sponsorship, charity work permits, visa support or similar. Before contacting any organisation regarding any volunteering opportunities posted on the CVS website, individuals should be satisfied that they are permitted to volunteer in the UK.
