The Caritas Community Development team works with parishes and schools across the diocese to support them in setting up or developing social action initiatives. This could include help with sustainability, volunteer recruitment, accessing funding, sharing expertise and other aspects of project management.
Each of our Development Workers oversees a particular geographical area of the diocese, allowing you to link with a specific team member for support, while our Volunteer Engagement & Training and Food & Financial Support Coordinators work with volunteers, food security projects and financial relief initiatives across the diocese.
We have bespoke support available in the following areas:
- Food security (including supermarket vouchers and food distribution projects)
- Homelessness and support for people in temporary accommodation
- Cost of living
- Migrants and Refugees
- Volunteering
- Support for the elderly
- Catholic Social Teaching programmes for parishes and schools
You can get involved by becoming your parish’s Caritas Rep.
