About the role
Volunteers are needed to escort elderly and vulnerable people on a minibus from their homes to their Day Care Centre, and back home again.
The bus collects the members in the morning, and then takes them home in the afternoon.
What would be involved?
- Assisting the members to get on and off the minibus for collection and drop offs on Club days
- Ensure the wellbeing of the clients during the journey to enable them to arrive safety
- Ensuring members are seated securely and using appropriate seat belts at all times
This vital role means that isolated vulnerable elderly people can access a local Day Care Centre in South Oxhey, take advantage of the services they provide, have a hot meal and a chat (perhaps the only time they can leave their home each week).
This is a rewarding, enjoyable role for a patient, chatty person.
All volunteers must have lived in the UK for 3 years, be over the age of 18 and are recruited subject to references and a clear enhanced DBS. Training will be provided.
