London Catholic Worker
A community of the radical Christian Catholic Worker movement
This is a full-time role living and working in the community at Giuseppe Conlon House, our house of hospitality for destitute migrants and asylum seekers.
Live-in volunteers help the long-term community members to run the house of hospitality and take part in other activities of the London Catholic Worker such as our social justice work, and some times helping with other local projects. Tasks include housekeeping, DIY, gardening, administration, IT support, organising events, creative projects and befriending guests.
Community members and live-in volunteers pray together and have regular team meetings and workshops to support individual growth and build community.
We usually expect live-in volunteers to make a minimum commitment of 6 months. We provide free accommodation, sometimes sharing a room with another volunteer, meals and a weekly allowance.
