Caritas Westminster

Social action agency working for a society where all are respected and can live a life of dignity

We’re looking for a reliable, friendly and self-sufficient volunteer who can support the business development manager in the running of the SEEDS hub.

About SEEDS Hub

A start-up programme and community space with a difference. Seeds supports community projects, including charities, social enterprises and business for good, to grow and flourish.

We’re based in Brent, but we work with people all over North London who have an idea that they’d like to get off the ground. Our start-up programme works exclusively with people who are unemployed or on low incomes.

Our physical space, the Seeds hub, is located in the heart of Brent next to Wembley Stadium. The space offers coworking desks, office space and conference facilities for established charities, social enterprises and businesses for good.

We’re a project of Caritas Westminster, a charity that facilitates social outreach work to tackle poverty and inequality.

About the Role

Our Hub currently has 5 private offices, a training room and 15 co-working spaces for businesses. Currently, we have 11 business operating from here and as of mid-2023 we’ll be looking to expand by creating 2 new private offices.

As a result, we’re looking for a reliable, friendly and self-sufficient volunteer who can support the business development manager in the running of the hub. This will need to be someone who has great communication skills and is eager to help with client requests such as: printing, answering the door and telephone calls, and reminding visitors to sign in. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, general tasks to keep the hub up to its high standard such as watering the plants, conducting health and safety checks and basic research.

The role location is physically at the hub in Wembley and the Seeds team can guarantee a friendly, warm work environment with lots of unlimited tea and coffee as another incentive to volunteer besides the obvious satisfaction of giving back.

Personal Qualities

• Local to Wembley/Brent resident
• Warm and friendly
• Willing to learn
• Independent
• Can-do attitude

Please note we are looking for up to 5 volunteers to either volunteer once a week, or 2/3 volunteers to volunteer on a shift basis. Minimum shift will be 4.5 hours. Please specify availability on application form (which we will send you after your initial contact with us).
