Catholic Marriage Care

Relationship Specialists

Would you like to develop professional counselling skills and support couples through some of the most important moments in their lives?

We’re delighted to announce that we are recruiting volunteer Relationship Counsellors to join our Certificate in Relationship Counselling (CRC) training programme, starting March 2027 (application deadline 30th June).

At Marriage Care, we believe that strong relationships are a matter of social justice. When relationships struggle, the effects can ripple through families and communities, increasing inequality. That’s why we provide relationship counselling and marriage preparation across England and Wales, ensuring support is available regardless of a couple’s ability to pay.

Our volunteer counsellors make this possible by offering two counselling sessions per week, helping couples access professional, effective support when they need it most.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need previous counselling experience. We’re looking for people who are:

💛 Empathetic and understanding

🤝 Passionate about supporting adult relationships

🪞 Self-aware and reflective

⏳ Able to commit the time and energy needed for both the training and volunteer role

In return, you’ll become part of a warm, supportive community, gain valuable counselling skills, and have the opportunity to make a lasting difference to couples and families.

Please note that there are costs associated with training on our CRC, including a non-refundable registration fee of around £175. These costs, which are outlined on our webpage, are subject to minor changes and are far lower than with alternative training providers. In line with our ethos as a charity, no one is excluded on the basis of their ability to pay. What we ask in return is your commitment to us and our clients.
