Working with food suppliers and charities to reduce food waste and food poverty

This role is vital to the work of Felix, ensuring that food is safely delivered to our charities or collected from our food suppliers. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys getting out and about in London, someone looking to gain experience in the food industry, and/or someone just wanting to help.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

• Rescuing surplus food from suppliers around London
• Delivering food orders to our community partners
• Loading and unloading deliveries/collections
• Being the ‘face of Felix’ and representing our brand

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS MUST:

• Be over the age of 21
• Hold a full driver’s license
• Have no more than 6 points on their license
• Have been driving for minimum 1 year

You will be driving one of the vans, however you do not need experience. Co-Drivers do not need to drive, they only assist the drivers.

SKILLS DESCRIPTION

• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting and loading
• Able to work effectively and use your initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work well in a team, on your own and under pressure
• Able to follow The Felix Project’s policy, procedures and systems
• Interested in food and committed to redistributing food waste to charities

TRAINING

• Manual Handling (2-minute online video)
• Food Safety and Hygiene (2-minute online video)

TIME COMMITMENT

• Shifts vary between 1-4 hours
