Aim of role: Creating cards of kindness to send to care home residents.

Working from home or in a group, or delivering to care homes across an agreed area within the London Borough of Richmond convenient to you. Hours are flexible.

Through our Cards of Kindness project we send regular handmade cards to residents who are feeling isolated to help combat loneliness and bring joy and community connection. Every card makes a big difference.

You can choose one or more of the following activities:

1. Creating handmade cards monthly at home or in a group.
2. Writing short messages or poems inside the cards/or send the messages and poems to the Volunteer Project Coordinator to attach to cards.
3. Delivering cards to a designated nearby care home.*
(*This role requires the volunteer to complete an application form and provide details of 2 referees who we can contact for references.)

To be suitable for this role you would need to:

  • Enjoy making arts and crafts and being creative or
  • Enjoy getting out in your community and you’d like to make a difference by delivering finished cards to a designated nearby care home – a great way to get involved if you don’t want to make cards
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and be well-organised
