Hertsmere Mencap

We support adults and children with learning disabilities to feel valued, listened to and included

We are looking for volunteers to help run our dynamic and vibrant Youth Club on a Thursday evening from 7pm–9pm in Borehamwood (WD6).

Hertsmere Mencap is a small and active charity, supporting a membership of 250 children and adults with a learning disability along with their families and carers. Our mission is for people with a learning disability to be valued equally, listened to and included.

Volunteering at our Thursday evening Youth Club is a lot of fun!

What you will do:

  • Engage with Youth: help facilitate activities, games and discussions
  • Create Fun: contribute to a lively and welcoming environment
  • Be Part of a Community: work with a dynamic team
  • Build skills: enhance your leadership, communication and teamwork abilities

Join a team of caring, fun and dedicated volunteers and staff; most feel a huge sense of enjoyment and satisfaction volunteering with us.

You will be:

  • 16 years or over
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, committed and enjoy working with youth

All volunteers will be required to provide 2 references and complete a DBS check.
