Bringing Light to Soho
St Anne’s is a lively and inclusive church at the heart of bustling Soho. Throughout the week, we welcome a wide range of people from the community into our coffee shop (Sacred Grounds) and into the church building, through activities as varied as grief cafes, Bible studies, recovery courses, and community teas and lunches.
We are looking for someone to attend our weekly Soho Seniors’ Lunch and sit with one of the guests who is socially isolated because of her autism. She needs someone who will simply give her attention, try and involve her in other people’s conversations, and give her space to ‘offload.’
Three course lunch would be provided and the volunteer would need to be at St Anne’s, 55 Dean Street, W1D 6AF from 12.30 to 2/2.15. The commitment would ideally be every Thursday, or alternate Thursdays.
No special skills are required other than kindness, patience and a willingness to listen.
