Can you spare an hour a week to change an older person’s life by telephoning them?
As Telephone Befriender you can enjoy a regular friendly chat on the phone with one older person or more. You will be matched with an older person, providing friendship and sharing news, views and interests.
You should be able to deal with clients in a non-judgemental and respectful way, whilst maintaining their confidentiality.
This is a rewarding way to build a lovely relationship with somebody who is lonely from the comfort of your own home.
Training will be provided
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers must be living in Hertfordshire to apply for this opportunity. All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and are recruited subject to references and a clear enhanced DBS.
