Following the celebration of the Feast of St Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of Caritas Bakhita House, we’re pleased to share this moving testimony from a former guest of the safe house:
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone in [Caritas] Bakhita House. You have supported us, lifted us up, talked with us, and understood our situation for what it was. I am deeply thankful and forever grateful, with no words that can ever fully express my appreciation.
I truly hope that now and in the future, my son and I may still be able to join activities at the house as part of this wonderful family.
My heartfelt thanks to Karen; a kind and fair person. To Rita; full of humour and endless energy. To Katy; young, dynamic, gentle and caring. To Jana; a woman whose smile carries both kindness and quiet understanding. And to Anna, who stood by me when I gave birth; a time I could not imagine facing alone. Your sympathy, comfort and help pushed away the loneliness, that I felt in this foreign land.
I will always remember and be grateful for everything you have done and continue to do for us in the past, present and future. Once again thank you from the bottom of my heart.
