Caritas Westminster is delighted to share a recent video from our friends at Social Apostolate, a homeless project based at St Ignatius Church in Stamford Hill. The initiative sees volunteers come together to cook nourishing meals for the local homeless twice a week, as well as collect and distribute donations of clothing and essential items.
‘We have worked very closely with Social Apostolate over the years,’ said Niki Psarias, Food Programme Lead at Caritas Westminster. ‘We are so proud of the project’s incredible work, and look forward to seeing it continue to flourish.’
This video gives insight into the project’s celebration of Wigilia, a traditional Polish Christmas Eve meal.
Volunteers from the Social Apostolate have been recognised at our previous ‘Love in Action’ Volunteering Awards; a team of volunteers won the ‘Outstanding Service to the Parish’ award in 2022, while Axel Rejas was runner-up for the ‘Young Volunteer of the Year’ award in 2024.
